It’s Monday! And that means it’s time for my Eco Beauty Booty! These are the skin care products that I use to keep my skin soft and protect it from harmful chemicals at the same time. I started looking for all natural products to tame my battle with excema; I’ve had this skin condition since I was a child. Excema, for those of you that are not familiar with it, is extremely dry skin. It’s commonly called the “itch that rashes” instead of the rash that itches. It’s important for me to keep my skin moisturized and healthy so it doesn’t dry up and start itching. When I found out that many of the products I was already using had harmful ingredients, I started looking for more all natural products. I’m partial to Burt’s Bees but occasionally I use other skin care products. If you have a recommendation feel free to Tweet me @AlanaEcoFashion or email me using the contact page.
Today, I’m featuring my day lotion which I’ve also gotten from Burt’s Bees. It has SPF as well to protect my face from the sun. The sun’s harmful rays can make you look older than you really are so it’s important to protect that face! I use the Burt’s Bees Radiance Day Lotion with Royal Jelly. If you’ve never heard of Royal Jelly, it’s what honey bees use to primp bees that will become the queen. This is exclusive stuff! I like to consider myself a queen bee, so this is perfect for me.
The day lotion is 98.2% natural. (Side note: That’s another thing I like about Burt’s Bees. They don’t lie and try to mislead you about how perfectly natural their product is. They tell you right on the bottle how much naturalness you get.) From their site:
“At Burt’s Bees, we don’t waste our time — or yours — pretending to be something we’re not. We prefer putting our energy into making the best natural personal care products out there to help you maximize your well-being.
We’re proud that over half of our 150+ products are 100% natural! Still, we won’t be satisfied until all of our products are 100% natural and we are currently aggressively pursuing this goal through reformulations and testing.”
I have extremely sensitive skin, so much so that I don’t even allow people at the mall to test ‘hypoallergenic’ products on me. I have to be able to read ingredients before I can put anything on my skin. So anyway, this is the day lotion that I use.
What do you think?
