Kuyichiwas the first brand to produce organic jeans. That’s a pretty big deal. Especially since most of the cotton clothing we wear in America comes in the form of jeans. They use some of the fabrics I mentioned in the eco-friendly fabrics post. They use hemp, organic cotton, linen, lenpur and tencel, just to name a few.
Here at Kuyichi we care about the product, the people and the planet…We started the organic revolution as the first brand to produce organic jeans…we care about where the jeans came from and where they are going.
They realize that more than 25% of all insecticides used globally are used just for growing cotton. They also produce clothing using linen, which comes from the fiber of the flax plant.
One of the interesting things I found out when researching them, is that they also support farmers who are making the switch to organic. It takes a few years to officially certify the end product as organic if the ground was previously used for non-organic growing because there are still pesticides and residues left. Kuyichi also uses this cotton that is in the conversion stage, reducing the costs to go organic for these farmers.
No on to the most important question; how does it look? Because ultimately I want to go organic with my fashion but keep my style as well. Check out these super cute jeans and jacket. The jacket is made from recycled wool and perfect for cold days. I can’t wait to get my hands on some!
